In Search Of Stable Part Time Freelance Medical Writing Jobs From Home

There are numerous reasons why you may want to work from home and particularly within the field of medical freelance writing. You may be studying for a medical based degree and want to chalk up some writing experience within a relevant niche. You may be about to go on maternity leave, or you may be semi- retired. Whatever your reasons there is an abundance of projects to be found; if you know where to look.

The downside to freelancing is that it generally doesn’t provide a steady income. You often need to secure work from multiple sources in order to make ends meet. Ideally, what you need is two or three regular jobs that offer a decent volume of work. Unless you just want a little bit of pin money, then you are never going to get by on just the odd article here or there.

So, just where do you find these elusive jobs?

Contact your local family/general practitioner.

It seems like the whole world is online these days. Prepare some professional looking literature and then drop it into fifty to one-hundred local surgeries offering up a copywriting service for their website or blog. You might strike lucky. Don’t be tempted to bombard the receptionist with phone calls. You don’t want to become a nuisance and drive business away. If you can secure copywriting work for blogs, then it could easily turn into a regular income. Be sure to set a realistic but competitive price. You don’t want to undersell yourself but neither do you want to be too expensive.

Be determined

Stable, regular work is not something that you generally come by overnight. You might have to try a whole range of situations first before you strike gold. Be prepared to do whatever it takes to succeed. If you have to find a conventional part time job in the meantime to top you up then so be it. A freelance career takes years to build.

Treat your clients well

With so much competition out there, there really is no room for complacency. You need to try and hang onto every single client that you get. Try and understand their needs and adjust your service to accommodate them. This is the best way of ensuring that they come back to you time and time again and that they don’t get tempted to try the services of a different freelancer.
